October is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness of this important issue and recognize efforts to protect children and create safe communities. Conversations about child abuse are not always easy, but through our Aurora Child and Youth Advocacy Centre, we can celebrate the difference that we can make when the community comes together to have a positive impact on the lives of children, youth and families. Make sure to watch our social media throughout October for messages of hope and education. We'll have news from our Alberta Child and Youth Advocacy Centres, we'll be our coordinating our #GoBlue for Kids campaign, and of course we'll be hosting our Once Upon a Childhood Gala on October 23. Also, the lights at CityHall will turn blue on October 1 in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
